The Space
The Roundhouse at Hazelwood Green is a stunning adaptive renovation of a 19th Century steel mill's roundhouse, where trains once turned to deliver materials throughout the factory during Pittsburgh's industrial boom.
Now owned by Almono LLP and occupied by Silicon Valley-based OneValley, the Roundhouse is now a co-working space, housing technology and innovation professionals within its offices, meeting rooms, event space and lounge areas.
The renovation won architecture firm GBBN a First Place prize for adaptive reuse of an industrial building in Retrofit Magazine's 2021 awards competition.
Doors Unhinged was thrilled to be chosen as the door vendor to complete 49 openings with reclaimed materials, preventing 5.2 Metric Tonnes of CO2 emissions from being emitted into the atmosphere, and diverting 2.3 Tons of high-quality material from the landfill.
